2008-2011 Porsche 997 (911) (997.2) MKII Carrera Specifications SpecsThe Porsche 997 (911) MK II was released in 2008 improving an already impressive sports car with subtle but effective changes. The appearance of the new 997 remained relatively unchanged expect to for the addition of the LED lights taken from the Cayenne. The real changes to the new 997 occurred to the powertrain. The engine capacity was upped slightly and the internals were simplified improving the reliability of the already well know dependable Porsche 911. Another significant change occurred in the optional automatic transmission going from the Tiptronic S system to a double clutch version improving the efficiency and speed while giving drivers a manual and automatic option. These changes to the Porsche 997 were more a process of refining then reinventing.
