2001-2004 Porsche 996 3.6 liter (911) Carrera Specifications Specs

2001-2004 Porsche 996 3.6 liter (911) Carrera Specifications SpecsIn 2001 the Porsche 996 3.6 liter Carrera was released in hopes to address most of the criticisms of the previous generation. Obviously the biggest change came from the improved power plant, going from 3.4 to 3.6 liters. The increased engine capacity bumped the 996’s power to 320 horsepower and addressed many of the mechanical issues that accompanied the 3.4-liter engine. Another big change was with the 996’s styling. Porsche addressed the complaints about the front headlights by giving them a more distinguished 911 look. All in all, Porsche did a good job in addressing the flaws from the previous 996, but still this version of the Porsche 911 still has yet to appeal totally to the die hard enthusiast as reflected in resale values. If you appreciate the Porsche 996 then the 3.6-liter is one of the better choices due to its improved reliability and power.
