1991-1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 RS Specifications Specs

1991-1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 RS Specifications SpecsIn 1991 Porsche released their new version of the 911 Carrera 2 RS hoping to live up to the legendary 1973 version. Staying true to RS concept performance was achieved through weight saving measures. This lightweight version of the Porsche 964 came without rear seats, reduced sound dampening, no sunroof, no power windows or mirrors, optional basic stereo, etc. In addition to removing creature comforts to save weight, Porsche also replaced their standard front seats with lightweight Recaros. All these measures added up to about 260 lbs. saved. As well as cutting the weight, Porsche lowered it and improved the power by a modest 10 horsepower. This Porsche 911 was produced for the track making it not suitable for everyday use. The 1991 and 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 RS were not available in the USA and produced in limited numbers making them quite sought after. This version of RS absolutely lived up to its intended purpose, a perfect track car.
